Dearest reader,

Hi! Hello! Welcome!

This is crazy if you’re viewing this because as of now, the very creation of the Bestofalyss blog, I’ve decided to keep this relatively private. This won’t be included on my instagram, nor will I really advertise this to anyone. 

I’ve found myself becoming quite anxious lately: my heart racing, my mind falling into a spiral. When this happens, I tend to see only the negative, everything good and right with the world torn from the photo. I get inside my head. My heart knows that there is nothing truly wrong, however my mind finds a way to corrupt and control the beat of my heart. 

I believe that love and passion gives life meaning. I believe that love and passion can be found everywhere; in people, places, things, actions, and words. And, in doing so, I am writing this blog to remind myself of all these amazingly wonderful things that God’s good earth brings me. I hope to blog at least one thing each day, writing down anything from a mundane task to one of the great Wonders of the World to compile a list of what I believe is the best. You can call this list “The Best of Alyss!” (See what I did there ;) ?)

As I conclude, I must give credit where credit is due. This blog is inspired by my dear friend Ninalovespuppy, who reminds me each and everyday that joy can be found in all sorts of things as long as you allow yourself to see it. May this blog then help me to open my eyes.
